Lynchburg Women Place Third at ODAC XC Meet
FARMVILLE, VA – The Lynchburg College women's cross country team competed in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) championship meet on Saturday, placing third. Hampden-Sydney College hosted the event at the Manor Golf Course.
The first Hornet to cross the line was senior Naomi Tice who ran a time of 25:06 which placed her 10th overall. She earned a spot on the All-ODAC second-team. The next Hornet to finish the 6k race was freshman Mary Deis who ran a time 25:37 which was good for 16th place. Right behind Deis was senior Miriam Oweis who finished 17th, running a time of 25:39. Sophomore Lindsey Crill finished in 26:11.20 which placed her 22nd, and junior Tracy Estelus rounded out the top five in 26:16 which was good for 24th place.
Bridgewater College's Kaylee Kubisiak won the individual title in 23:36.80. Bridgewater took home the team trophy with 22 team points as well having their top three runners finishing first, second, and third. Eastern Mennonite University took second place (58 pts.) and Lynchburg took third in the 10-team field team (90).
The Hornets will take part in the South/Southeast Regional Meet, Saturday, November 16 at Christopher Newport University.
