LC Women's XC Competes at Shenandoah Valley Invite

ELKTON, VA – The Lynchburg College women's cross country team ran at the Shenandoah Valley Invite, competing against several Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) teams.  Those running included the hosts Eastern Mennonite University and Bridgewater College, as well as Shenandoah University.

Meagan Gallagher topped the Hornet finishers on Saturday, setting a new career-best at 22:06.  Jenna Hyde also set her personal-best during the race with a time of 23:55.

To add to the PRs of the day, Lindsey Van Zile had her best in 24:00.8.  Finally Bethany Boury crossed the finish line of the 5K race at 26:54.

LC once again did not qualify for the team event, because there were not enough runners to finish the race.  EMU took the team title.

Lynchburg will take next week off before heading to Lehigh University on October 4.  The Hornets will run in the Paul Short Invitational, which features tough competition, including several Division I teams.
