ODAC picks Schreiber as women's runner of the week

Forest, Va. -- Lynchburg College women's cross country standout Samantha Schreiber (Gladys, Va.) took home her second-career Old Dominion Athletic Conference Runner of the Year award this week.

Schreiber continued to add to what's becoming one of the finest female running résumés in Lynchburg College history last weekend, running the second-fastest 6k in Hornet history at the Virginia Tech Alumni Invitational. Her 22:55.8 fell only short of her 2016 mark from the Inter-Region Rumble in Oberlin, Ohio, and was good enough for 29th in the race; Schreiber was the top finisher from a non-scholarship program in the race.

Her race helped LC to a seventh-place finish of the 14 teams running.
