Amherst, Va. -- University of Lynchburg's equestrian team wrapped up the program's inaugural National Collegiate Equestrian Association scrimmage season Friday with a 7-1 defeat at the hands of sixth-ranked Texas Christian at the Harriet Howell Rogers Riding Center.
TCU earned 535 total hunt seat points to Lynchburg's 447.
Junior Dani Herzberg (Beachwood, Ohio) earned the lone point for the Hornets, with a 76-point ride over fences atop Snips. That mark bested TCU's Wynne Weatherly, who tallied 71 points on her ride.
Herzberg was Lynchburg's highest total scorer on the day adding a 52-point ride on the flat.
The Horned Frogs' Izzy Baxter was the day's high-point rider with 132 points between her rides on the flat and over fences.
Though Lynchburg's NCEA scrimmage season is over, the Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association portion of the schedule is just gearing up this spring. Lynchburg's next show is set for Sunday, Feb. 10 at the Randolph IHSA.
