Felton, Del. -- University of Lynchburg's equestrian team dropped an 8-0 decision to host Delaware State Friday in National Collegiate Equestrian Association competition despite several close scores.
Sophomore Taylor Herzog was Lynchburg's high-point rider of the day, totaling 80 points over fences and 72 on the flat, though neither total was enough to win Lynchburg a point.
Freshman Lori Ohannessian also garnered 72 points in her ride on the flat.
DSU tallied 642 total points to Lynchburg's 571. Delaware State's Erin Gordon totaled the most points in the meet with 165 between her rides on the flat and over fences.
Lynchburg concluded the fall portion of its NCEA schedule with an 0-3 record. The spring portion of the format schedule is set to begin Friday, March 6 in California with meets against Fresno State and UC Davis.
