Forest, Va. -- University of Lynchburg men's basketball senior Austin Wrighten (Woodbridge, Va.) earned the Old Dominion Athletic Conference's player of the week honor after leading the unbeaten Hornets to a 3-0 week.
Wrighten averaged 16.7 points per game, shooting 19-for-42 from the field in Lynchburg's wins over Emory & Henry, Mary Washington, and No. 22 Christopher Newport.
The wing also averaged 9.7 rebounds and 3.0 assists. He made 11 of his 14 free throw attempts.
Wrighten's honor is the first weekly award of the season for the Hornet men, which are off to the program's first 7-0 start in the ODAC era. It is his first-career ODAC player of the week honor and Lynchburg's first since senior forward Connor Schroeder (Blacksburg, Va.) earned the award for the week preceding February 12.
