Forest, Va. -- University of Lynchburg men's basketball senior Connor Schroeder (Blacksburg, Va.) earned the Old Dominion Athletic Conference's player of the week honor, the conference office announced Monday.
The forward had a milestone week, becoming the 25th player in program history to reach 1,000 career points in Saturday's win at Shenandoah. Schroeder dumped in a career-high 40 points in the win, going 17-for-22 from the field. He also grabbed nine rebounds.
Schroeder also had a dominant performance in a New Year's Day win over Averett, posting 24 points and 12 rebounds.
He currently ranks eighth in the ODAC in scoring average (16.9 points per game) and 11th in field goal percentage (53.0). Both of those marks are second on the team.
Lynchburg men's basketball is currently 13-1 and 4-1 in ODAC play. The Hornets received votes in the most recent D3hoops.com top 25 poll.
