HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Hornets started to gain momentum in the last few minutes of the first half after a much needed 6-0 run. Lynchburg ended the half strong with a 3-point shot from sophomore forward Reggie Davis (Greensboro, N.C.) quickly followed by another 3-pointer by Greene that cut the Randolph-Macon lead to one point. Anthony hit a jumper on the final possession of the half to send the teams into the locker room with the score 34-31 in the visitors' favor.

  • Randolph-Macon came out of the locker room the aggressor, forcing a turnover on the opening possession, which Corey Bays followed with a 3 for the Yellow Jackets.

  • Lynchburg used a 7-0 run that ended with a layup from senior forward Connor Schroeder (Blacksburg, Va.) with 10:38 remaining to cut the lead to three, but R-MC responded with back-to-back buckets to reopen the gap. The Hornets never again cut the lead to one possession.
