Lynchburg, Va. -- Junior T.C. Thacker recorded his fifth double-double of the season with a career-high 26 points and 16 boards, but it was not enough as the University of Lynchburg men's basketball team fell to William Peace, 85-79 in overtime, Wednesday afternoon.
Lynchburg was able to hold off a scrappy William Peace team through the first half and go into the break leading, 44-41. The Hornets led for almost the entire second half but the Pacers slowly made a comeback and tied the game up at 71-71 with 24 seconds left in regulation.
With 2:55 left in the first OT, the Pacers' Camden Ferguson tied the game at 77 with a 3-point shot. After a made two point field goal put the Pacers up 79-77, William Peace took back their first lead of the contest since the 5:03 mark in the first half and came out on top 85-79.
The University of Lynchburg men's basketball team will be back in action on Saturday, January 4 as the Hornets take on the Marlins of Virginia Wesleyan University with tip-off slated for 2 p.m.
