Lynchburg, Va. -- University of Lynchburg and head men's golf coach Michael Veverka are excited to announce the fall 2018 schedule for the Hornets men's golf program.

Additionally, Lynchburg is pleased to announce a new partnership with Boonsboro Country Club as the program's new home course.

Boonsboro, home of the prestigious Fox Puss tournament, is a 6,787-yard, par-72 track built in the 1920s in Bedford County, just north of the Lynchburg City line. It will also be the home course for Lynchburg's women's golf program, which will begin competition in 2019-20.

"We are extremely excited about the opportunity to call Boonsboro Country Club home for the Hornet golf," Veverka said. "The Fred Findlay design, a combination of the classic and challenging, demanding greens, and the phenomenal short game and practice facilities will all be great assets for the team as we move forward! We are excited to work with the professional staff, the members, and the BCC community as a whole.

"We would like to thank head professional Aaron Marks and the club staff who have helped to make this opportunity a reality. We are looking forward to a great season!"

The change ends Lynchburg's four-year stay at Poplar Grove Golf Club in Amherst, Va.

While the Hornets will wait until spring for tournament play at their new home, a busy fall awaits the team, starting with a trip to Winchester, Va., for the Greene Turtle Invitational Sept. 9-10.

Another trip to the Shenandoah follows a week later, Sept. 17-18 for the Tom Kinder Invitational in Harrisonburg, Va.

The Virginia State Golf Association's Intercollegiate championship comes Oct. 15-16 and this year will be played in Suffolk, Va., at Sleepy Hole Golf Course.

Lynchburg will wrap up the fall season with a trip to Greensboro, N.C., for the O'Briant-Jensen Memorial Oct. 22-23.
