#7 Cabrini Defeats #9 LC Men's Lacrosse 16-11
WASHINGTON, DC - The seventh-ranked Cabrini College men's lacrosse team defeated #9 Lynchburg College 16-11 Saturday in a non-conference game played at Georgetown University.
Austin Stewart found the back of the net four times, and Robert Arnold posted two goals and one assist for LC. Austin Murphy had a score and two assists, Campbell Armstrong tallied a goal and an assist and David Alyakanian, Bobby Distler and Chris Cornelius each had a goal. Todd Galvin had an assist.
Junior Mike Leyden led the way for Cabrini (3-0), matching a career high with five points and three goals in the win. Corey Elmer and Damian Sobieski and Anthony DiSanzo added four points each. Sobieski tallied four goals on the day, while Elmer and DiSanzo paired two goals and two assists each.
Goaltender Hank Altschuler anchored the defensive zone, recording nine saves for his third career win in as many games.
The Hornets (1-2) host #19 Gettysburg College Saturday at 2:30 p.m. - the third ranked team LC will face in the first four contests.
