The Cavaliers started the second with five straight goals before Lynchburg recovered for the final two jabs of the half. Dean and Rogers each scored in the final four minutes to cut Cabrini's lead to 7-4.
Rogers picked up two unassisted goals in the third, but the Hornets weren't able to cut into the deficit and trailed 9-6 entering the fourth.
Lombardo scored twice in the final 15 minutes to keep the Hornets in the game, but the Cavaliers managed to kill clock with long possessions and maintained their lead with two fourth-quarter goals of their own.
The Hornets will travel to Pennsylvania Saturday, March 2 to take on the York Spartans at 1 p.m. The two teams will celebrate the One Love Foundation, a nonprofit aimed at ending relationship violence, before and during the contest.
