LC's Melanie Tenney Earns All-State Softball Honors
LYNCHBURG, VA – Lynchburg College's Melanie Tenney earned 2013 second-team All-State College Division Softball honors Monday, as voted on by the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID).
Earlier this season, Tenney was named to the All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference and All-Region third-teams. She led the squad with a .367 batting average and was second on the team with seven doubles and ten walks, while finishing third with 25 RBI. She added a smooth glove in the field, only committing four errors in 161 total chances.
The Hornets finished their season with a record of 32-13 and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since the 2009 campaign.
