Lynchburg, Va. -- The Lynchburg College softball team split a doubleheader against ODAC opponent Shenandoah on Tuesday, falling 4-3 in the opener before rebounding for a 14-0 blowout, five-inning victory in the nightcap.

The Hornets dropped the opening game of the day as Shenandoah was able to come back with two runs in the top of the seventh to seal the victory.

Senior second baseman Leslie Bourgeois (Bealeton, Va.) batted an impressive 4-for-7 during the two games, including five RBI and three runs scored. Sophomore pitcher Alex Cisar (Sykesville, Md.) spun a gem in the circle in the second game, as she threw five innings of shutout ball while striking out six batters and giving up only a single hit.

Freshman first-baseman Morgan Mitchell (Mineral, Va.) delivered a pinch-hit grand slam in the second game, her first collegiate home run, while sophomore outfielder Carol Oberhelman (Washington Township, N.J.) cranked a solo homer in the opener.
