Lynchburg, Va. -- University of Lynchburg athletics and director of men's and women's track & field Jim Sprecher are thrilled to announce the Hornets' 2018-19 indoor and outdoor season schedules.
Lynchburg looks to continue its return to the top of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference in 2018-19, as the Hornets finished no lower than third in any of the four league championships a season ago. The Hornet women won their first ODAC outdoor title since 2011 with a dominant performance at Bridgewater College.
This year's indoor slate begins at Roanoke College with the Bast-Cregger Invitational Saturday, Dec. 1, followed by Christopher Newport's Holiday Open a week later.
Hornet track & field fans will have opportunities to see their teams close to campus in January, first at the Virginia Military Institute Keydet Invitational Jan. 18-19 in Lexington, Va., and Jan. 25-26 across town at the Liberty University Kickoff.
A chock-full February follows, culminating in the ODAC Indoor Championships Sunday, Feb. 24 at Roanoke College.
The NCAA Division III Indoor Championships are scheduled for March 8-9 in Boston, Mass.
That same weekend marks the start of the outdoor season, as the Hornets will travel to Wilmington, N.C., for the UNCW Seahawk Invitational.
Lynchburg's own Dr. Jack M. Toms Alumni Invitational is set for March 22-23.
April is another full month, but the Hornets will not have to travel far as championship season ramps up.
