Forest, Va. -- Kaitlyn Johnson (Spotsylvania, Va.) continued to fill up her sophomore season trophy case Monday, as the Old Dominion Athletic Conference named the University of Lynchburg distance runner its women's track athlete of the week.
Johnson broke the Hornets' indoor program record in the 5,000-meter run by nearly 40 seconds, cruising to second at Franklin & Marshall's Diplomat Open in 17:55.74. That time currently ranks fifth in Division III.
An All-American in cross country this season, she won three ODAC runner of the week honors during the fall season. This week's is her first-career indoor runner of the week award from the league.
