Ashland, Va. -- The Lynchburg College women's basketball team suffered a 61-49 loss at Randolph-Macon Tuesday evening, bringing the Hornets' six-game win streak to a halt.
Randolph-Macon's Kelly Williams scored 20 points to go with 20 boards, leading the charge for the Yellow Jackets.
Lynchburg maintains a half-game lead in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference standings in the final week of regular-season play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Hornets leapt out to a 12-6 lead on the heels of an 8-0 run sparked by junior wing Alex Allen (China Grove, N.C.).
- Lynchburg led by seven early in the second before Randolph-Macon counter-punched with a 9-2 run of its own late in the second period, and the two teams entered intermission tied at 25 apiece.
- The third period featured three lead changes and four ties before a pair of DeFrancesco free throws put LC ahead late in the quarter. Lynchburg carried a 42-39 lead into the final period of play.
- The Hornets went cold in the fourth quarter as Randolph-Macon took control of the game. The Yellow Jackets finished the game on an 8-0 run to seal the contest.
Lynchburg will close out the regular season with a trip to Emory & Henry on Saturday, Feb. 17 to battle the Wasps for the top seed in the upcoming conference tournament. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m.
