Lynchburg, Va. -- University of Lynchburg's women's basketball team used an early run and a balanced attack to roll past Meredith, 69-50, in the final game of the Lynchburg Holiday Classic Sunday afternoon.
Four Hornets scored in double figures as the hosts used a 15-2 game-opening run to lead comfortably throughout.
Kimberly Schuh scored a game-high 13 points for the Avenging Angels.
The Hornets shot 50 percent from the field as a team and totaled 18 assists.
Emory & Henry defeated No. 16 Christopher Newport, 76-56, in Sunday's first tournament contest.
Final: Lynchburg 69, Meredith 50

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Hornets leapt out to a 15-2 lead, four of the points coming from both Quarles and Shephard, and continued the run to lead 20-4 after the first period.
Meredith shot 6-for-10 in the second period to go into halftime trailing 30-18.
Lynchburg held the lead after halftime, thanks in part to six points from sophomore forward Kat Stanley (Vinton, Va.) and eight second-half points from Kolb.
Lynchburg resumes Old Dominion Athletic Conference play Saturday, Jan. 5 at Eastern Mennonite. Tip-off is at 2 p.m.
