Lynchburg, Va. -- The Lynchburg women's lacrosse team secured its first Old Dominion Athletic Conference win of the season against the Bridgewater Eagles, 10-6.
Junior attackman Alicia Sandoval (Montclair, Va.) lead the game with four shots finding the back of the net and one ground ball. Sophomore midfielder Kelsi Trevisan (West Chester, Pa.) and senior midfielder Dorrie MacGregor (Centreville, Md.) each scored two goals for the Hornets.
Bridgewater goalie Mikaela Brooks had 20 saves in the net.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Hornets dominated the first half of the game, scoring six goals against the Eagles. MacGregor scored back-to-back unassisted goals to get the Hornets off to a good start, and a Carly Sandler (Kennebunk, Maine) goal, assisted by Madi Rupert (Forest, Va.), brought the Hornets to a 6-0 lead before a last-second shot by the Eagles' Kayla O'Sullivan went in. Lynchburg led 6-1 at the break.
Bridgewater managed to out-shoot Lynchburg in the second half, but the Hornets pulled through with the victory. Sandoval collected three of her four goals in the second half.
The Hornets will play host to Wellesley on Shellenberger Field on Wednesday March 28 at 2:30 p.m.
