Lynchburg, Va. -- University of Lynchburg athletics and head women's lacrosse coach Bruce Reid are excited to announce the Hornets' 2019 game schedule.
The Hornets' slate for this season includes three games against NCAA tournament qualifiers from last season along with a challenging slate of non-conference opponents.
Lynchburg is coming off a 2018 campaign that resulted in a 9-8 overall record and a trip to the Old Dominion Athletic Conference semifinals.
The 2019 schedule begins with a Feb. 23 road date with Capital Athletic Conference defending champion Mary Washington. Lynchburg will then open March with consecutive home games against Frostburg State, Gwynedd Mercy, and Columbia (S.C.) headed into Spring Break.
The hiatus sees Lynchburg headed to Clearwater, Fla., for tournament play, where the Hornets will line up with Swarthmore and defending USA South champ Meredith.
A trip to Christopher Newport on March 27 wraps up the non-conference schedule and leads into the March 30 ODAC opener at Shenandoah.
Lynchburg's home conference games include Roanoke (April 3), Ferrum (April 6), defending league champion Washington and Lee (April 13), and Virginia Wesleyan (April 24).
