Lynchburg, Va.-- The University of Lynchburg volleyball team fell to the Yellow Jackets of Randolph-Macon in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference match Tuesday night, 20-25, 25-15, 25-14, 25-20.
Freshman outside Emma Drake (Newsoms,Va.) led the Hornets at the net with 12 kills and one block.
Junior outside Sydney Frink (Chester, Va.) had a solid night, collecting 11 kills, nine digs, and a service ace. Both Hornet setters -- junior Erin Farina (Crozet, Va.) and sophomore Katie Cornelius (Manassas, Va.) -- earned 22 assists.
Junior libero Lauren Stanford (Mechanicsville,Va.) racked up 23 digs and an ace. Stanford currently ranks second in the ODAC for digs with 345 so far this season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
After a slow start, the Hornets tied it up in the middle of the first set, 16-16, after a kill from Drake. Lynchburg grabbed the lead at 21 and took the first set. The Hornets hit a scalding .297 in the chapter.
The Yellow Jackets took quick second and third sets from Lynchburg, 25-15 and 25-14. Randolph-Macon had a sky-high .556 kill percentage in the third set.
Lynchburg closed the gap on R-MC in the fourth, bringing it to 20-16 before the Yellow Jackets rallied for the win. Randolph-Macon's front-row defense converted six blocks in the set.
Lynchburg will travel to Buena Vista, Va., on Thursday, Oct. 11 to face off with the Knights of Southern Virginia at 7 p.m. in a non conference matchup. The match was rescheduled from Sept. 14 due to Hurricane Florence.
