Salem, Va. – Behind a breakout day from setter Alexis Davies-Hackenberg and strong hitting from Sydney Frink, University of Lynchburg's volleyball team picked up its first two Old Dominion Athletic Conference wins Saturday in a league tri-match at Roanoke College.
Davies-Hackenberg totaled 50 assists and 16 digs in Lynchburg's 3-1 win over Roanoke and 3-0 sweep of Eastern Mennonite, including a new season-high 26 assists in the finale against EMU.

In Lynchburg's first match of the day, RC (7-8, 1-3 ODAC) claimed the first set, 21-25, but the Hornets rebounded to win the next three, 25-19, 25-14, 26-24 to cement their first league win of the 2019 season.
Frink led the way with 18 kills on 60 attack attempts and also added 12. Disa Haugsdahl added nine kills and two blocks, while Lauren Stanford dug out 27 Maroons hits, and Davies-Hackenberg made 24 assists to go with 11 digs for her first double-double of the year.
